Let Me Count The Ways...
02.11.05 (8:40 pm)   [edit]

...that this country has gone wrong since the year 2000:

1.  Whether you like Michael Moore or not, you have to admit that George W. Bush amazed the world by taking a month-long vacation barely into his first term.  He didn't have time to read or heed the warnings blaring from his own classified briefings.

So 9-11 happened without a hitch- pulled off by a bunch so disorg anized that they almost missed the plane. The only people more disorganized than them was us.

2.  The United States of America pre-emptively attacked a sovereign nation which posed no threat.

And to launch this illegal war the government lied to the world and the American people.  Repeatedly.

3.  During this pigeon shoot, the United States of America let the artifacts of the beginnings of civilization, as we know (knew) it be destroyed.

On purpose.

4.  The United States of America suspended citizens rights via the "Patriot" Act.

They want to make it permanent- and they will.

5.  The United States of America began the systematic rounding up of "terrorists" (any young man of middle-eastern descent) and imprisoned them indefinitely without any rights.  They couldn't (can't) even see a lawyer.  Why?

6.  The United States of America defined "torture" to allow the United States of America to torture people.

7.  The United States of America tortured (tortures) people, in violation of every law of God and man.

And even after Abu Ghraib still, to this day, engages in torture.

8.  The United States of America hid (hides) "ghost" detainees from international relief agencies such as the International Red Cross.  This is documented.  What is there to hide?

9.  The United States of America now engages (successfully) in systematic efforts to quash free speech. The Bush administration admits to paying Armstrong "Uncle Tom" Williams a cool quarter million to get their false messages out.

10.  The United States of America now has state run television (the Fox network).

11.  The United States of America now prosecutes and jails lawyers (but only lawyers they don't like).

As Kurt Vonnegut might say "and so on..."

This is our country today.

As we threaten Iran, is it any wonder that North Korea is acting up.  We better be careful- they just might lob one at us.  What have they got to lose?

HEY, Arkansas, Misssissippi, Georgia and TEXAS!  Woooooooooooo PIG!  Sooey! Razorbacks!  HOOK 'EM HORNS!  How about them Cowboys?

How about that new Bush Budget, all you Red-State, anti-abortion, pro-"values" All American Conservative Patriots?  Hey Rush, how's that old Cape Girardeau, Missouri boy doing?  How are you getting your drugs these days?  Got any privacy issues?

How is this lead article from the Chicago Tribune setting with you fellas?  This is just an excerpt, but you get the drift.

"The proposed budget is particularly tough on cotton and rice farmers, who are represented by Senate Agriculture Chairman Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), Senate Appropriations Chairman Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) and House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas), among others.

"This is an unmitigated attack on Southern agriculture," said Rep. Marion Berry (, , ) (D-Ark.), a rice farmer. "It's interesting that the president would choose to literally attack Southern agriculture that has been a big factor for him being in the White House two terms. When you look at the blue states, you don't see many cotton and rice farmers out there."

May I quote Bob Dylan?  "How does it feeeeeeeeeeel?"

You put him in, now reap what ye have sown.  Write Tom DeeeeLay, he of the dyed wig and botoxed face.  He's a real TEXAN! Maybe he can get those subsidies back.

Bend over boys!  George W. has got something for you!

Well, Here He Goes Again
02.02.05 (7:52 pm)   [edit]

Seventeen minutes until the State of the Union address, and I can hardly wait.  It's going to be insufferable.  It still amazes me that the American people are so stupid that they put George W. Bush back in power.

And we are going to pay for it- in spades, as they say in Missouri. He's going to scare the shit out of stupid old people about Social Security, just to get that money flowing in to Wall Street.  He's going to brag and smirk and tear up about the vote in Iraq, ignoring all the carnage that has taken place and will continue to take place. He's going to threaten the rest of the world, and then follow through on those threats. Goodbye Iraq, Hello Iran.

How can this be happening?  Is this the way it happened in Germany?  Do people just sit by helplessly, because I guess we are all helpless.  Those who control the government control the power.  All the dissenters can do is duck and run.  And wait to get beaten in a war some years down the line, when justice finally rears it's head in some distant land.

Chris Matthews is an insufferable front-running suckup phoney who should be tarred and feathered.  I can't believe he's from San Francisco.

Well, here comes Dick Cheney.  My God, it's downright frightening!
